Our God is mighty and is a God who loves to heal; I can say amen to that!

I had fallen down the stairs and bruised my arm from my elbow to my shoulder, also my thumb was so painful that I couldn't move it; I realised I quickly that I had done somethingto it because of how severe the pain was. I Taking painkillers had no effect so early the next morning I went to the accident and emergency department at Derriford hospital. The doctor thought that the thumb was broken and that the arm was damaged as well because of the extent of the bruising, however an x-ray revealed that it wasn't broken but that the ligaments had been badly torn. My thumb was put into a splint and bandaged, and over the next four weeks I had to keep going back to have it checked. There was no improvement so the doctor took off the splint and left it for another week to decide whether physiotherapy would be needed. I had to carry a ball in my hand to try to getthe thumbto bend around it because I couldn't bend it in any direction at all, this proved very painful and it seemed that my thumb was worse than it was initially.

On Tuesday 22nd of August the pain seemed worse than it had been so I was unsure if I could make it to the prayer meeting but decided that I needed prayer. When Wendy, our Pastor's wife, asked if anyone wanted prayer I said yes and everyone gathered around and began to pray. I felt Wendy's finger gently touch my thumb and immediately I was able to bend it in half! I was so excited that I shouted out "my thumb is moving!" Everyone was so excited (though not as much as I was!). I bent it again hardly daring to believe it myself, I'd been through five weeks unable even to touch it let alone bend it, but here I was moving it and bending it all over the place; I was so happy! This was certainly a miracle that only our precious Lord could have done; something amazing and wonderful. It has been an incredible testimony to (people at work who all knew the pain that I had been in.

Jesus is the same as he was yesterday and will be tomorrow; a Mighty God who loves to show His power to us, his children.

Amen.. .
